Oops... I did it again!

Well, what a weekend we had in the Show Ring recently! You might of already heard we did pretty well at the National Show this year and after catching up on some well deserved beauty sleep I thought I would give you my take on this brilliant weekend.

The week before the show was a week of pampering where Alistair made sure I was looking my best.  I loved it, I felt like a movie star.

Saturday of the show came and it was Ben Alder who was going to the show, he told me he had to be up at 2am so he had set his alarm but I was a bit worried as he does like that snooze button!  I told him not to wake me as I needed my beauty sleep ahead of my appearance on Sunday.

Low and behold I was woken up very early by Ben who isn’t exactly light on his feet.  I wished him luck as I got my head down for a few more hours.

He got back on Saturday evening looking pretty happy with himself, he told me he had been crowned Junior Gelding Champion and Reserve Overall Gelding Champion.  Whilst I was pleased for him I hope he doesn’t think that he will be getting all the attention now!

On Sunday myself and little Sister Loyal had an even earlier start at 1am as Alistair had to have us both  platted up before 8am.  He’s so good at it, people always say how good we look.

It was brilliant having Loyal there as you can sometimes have a long time to wait between classes so it was great to have a natter.

Loyal did great finishing second in her class of 16 yearling fillies, I can assure you she will be back, she’s got a fantastic show career ahead of her.

My first appearance in the ring was in my class of  3 year old Fillies.  It was tense, but I won which meant I would be going into the Junior and Senior Championships to hopefully defend my crown.

Alistair took me into the ring for the Championships which was great, he told me to relax and stay calm but if I’m honest he looked more nervous than me!

Anyway…. I was crowned Junior AND Supreme Female Champion for the second year running.  We were joined in the ring by Matthew, Alistair’s Son and Cameron his Grandson, it was a real family affair.

I got more rosettes than I could have ever imagined.

I’m all caught up and my sleep and have even found time to soak up some rays with the beautiful weather we have been having.  If you do pop over to the centre come and say hi and I will tell you all about it.

Bye for now
